It is also my birthday month, but I am leaving my 50s this time. Crazy. And I am about to finish the book I am reading, so I will go to the library today to pick up The Book of Delights and that will be a delight because I love public libraries! Wow, that sentence was something - might be time to switch to decaf.
A friend of mine who also has a July birthday introduced me to what she calls the big girl birthday club. Instead of condensing celebration into a day week or month you celebrate as many day as you are years old selectively at any time during the year when you can gather who you want to celebrate with or how.
It takes the pressure off of gathering everyone at once, it also allows a flexibility to choose a random day of celebration of living at almost any time. I truly have never counted did I celebrate X number of day. What it has done for me is recognize any day and every day can be a celebration if I choose to make it so. More joy!
