My friend Yvonne Ator โ who does incredible work supporting overhwhelmed physicians and other caregiving professionals (helping the helpers) โ says "Fill up to overflow, then give from the overflow."
Trying to find my balance again at the moment. Taking a walk around the building I work in once an hour is my baby step today. Last walk turned into 20 minutes with a friend, which was a nice bonus.
Thank you for this very timely advice. When things go wrong )or feel overwhelming) in one aspect of my life I tend to let everything go by the wayside. I haven't picked up my camera in at least a year. I need to rectify that.
Your welcome! Full disclosure: after Hurricane Harvey, it was *years* until I picked up my camera with any consistency. Sometimes the camera needs a break. I totally get it. I hope you find your way back to it in a way that's fulfilling and joy-giving!
Thanks Karen, 100%. Small inhalations and full exhales are how I can feel more present and able to give more of myself. Music plays a key role in this for me.

Some of the best advice I've ever had!
This was a helpful and timely post, thank you.
I know Yvonne! She's a wise one, that girl.

Love this and such a great reminder to simply look to nature when we're tired, burned out or looking for inspiration and joy. She knows what's up!
She does indeed!

I love this. Music, for sure, is helpful for me, too.
